Landfill Design, Management and Rehabilitation

Resource Recovery Great Lakes has over 20 years' experience in landfill site design, management and rehabilitation.

Tuncurry Waste Management Centre is the largest operational landfill site we manage in the Great Lakes region. It is located on Tip Road, approximately 3km north of Tuncurry on the mid north coast of NSW. The site covers an area of 16.5ha, of which 13ha is designated landfill. We are currently working in partnership with Great Lakes Council to transition the Tuncurry site from a landfill to a waste transfer station.

Resource Recovery Great Lakes also manages sites at Bulahdelah, Tea Gardens and Stroud. Rehabilitation and capping works were recently completed at both Tea Gardens and Bulahdelah sites and both sites have transitioned from Waste Management Landfill site to Waste Transfer Stations.

Main plant and equipment include a 22-tonne and 6-tonne Hyundai Excavator. Both excavators have a variety of attachments which customise the machines for landfill modification/rehabilitation, a 10-tonne Tipper, L3800 Kubota tractor fitted with slasher and bucket.
