The Tinkerage is a community repair, upcycle and reuse space based at the Dunmore Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot, Revolve Shop ran in partnership with Shellharbour City Council. Workshops are facilitated each month including open to the public ‘drop in days’ every Thursday and Friday. To keep in the loop of upcoming workshops, follow the Tinkerage Instagram page.

All workshop bookings are through Shellharbour City Council Waste Services and are FREE to residents living within the Shellharbour Council Area, otherwise a $40 fee applies.

The Green is located at our Tuncurry Community Recycling Centre site, home of the Green Community Garden, Green Bikes and the Green Shop. The Green Community Garden is open most Wednesday’s where everyone is welcome to visit and explore. We offer fantastic Upcycling and Composting Workshops in partnership with Midwaste Regional Waste Forum and Mid-Coast Council. Be sure to follow the Midwaste facebook page for the latest workshops!

The Green Bikes Program involves a group of volunteer mentors who love all things biking. Volunteers teach young people from local schools and community programs how to restore and repair bikes. To find out more and get involved, contact us.

The Wallis Lakes Men’s Shed also operates from the Tuncurry site from 8.30-12.30 Monday to Friday. Be sure to drop in and see their incredible handmade pieces from recycled timber, or to sign up!.

In 2017, The Green Bikes program received the NSW Keep Australia Beautiful Blue Star Sustainability Award, Community Environment Achievement Category.

The Tuncurry Community Recycling Centre participates in the Community Service Order (CSO) Offenders program, co-ordinated by the NSW Department of Corrective Services; and we are an approved sponsor organisation for Work Development Orders with NSW State Debt Recovery.
